I'm am not seeing any MIDI sustain ON/OFF events when I check the List Editors window. However, in my setup, iMac + LPX 10.4.6, it is still not working. They did a Factory Reset and tested it through their setup, an iMac running Ableton Live, and pronounced the issue resolved. So I felt it may now be a hardware issue with the Akai and returned it to the store for repair. When I went into Edit mode on the Akai to ensure that the MIDI details were correct I noticed that the footswitch was not even being detected. And then thought it was merely a case of updating the MIDI details in the new Synchronisation window in 10.4.5. I checked the Controller Assignments and again all seemed OK. Around that time the sustain pedal stopped working. All seemed good up until I upgraded to Logic 10.4.5 (from 10.4.4). My old sustain pedal did not have the polarity invert switch and it wouldn't work with the Akai! So i went and bought a pedal with an invert switch (a UXL PFS-30). I also setup the MIDI settings within Synchronisation menu. The Controller Assignments looked OK to me. I bought an Akai MPK249 Keyboard Controller back in April and downloaded the MIDI mapping file from the Akai support site and placed the file in the recommended folder (~Library/preferences).
